Volunteer

Being a volunteer-based non-profit, we are always in need of helpers!  Here are some of our volunteer opportunities:

  • Support Services Team - resume writing, job search, interview skills, navigating education pathways, clothing/food/basic needs resources search. Help the families with what they need to be successful. Work closely with program staff.

  • Maintenance - complete general home maintenance checklist after a family moves out. Ensure home is ready for a new family. On average about 1-3 hours a month.

  • Home Preparation Team - light cleaning, and home organization to spruce up the homes for new families. You get a chance to chose items from our storage to help make a house feel like home. 1-3 hours per month on average.

  • Alumni Specialist - Reach out to previous families to inquire about housing stability since leaving Way Back Inn. Report findings back to program staff. 1-5 hours per month.

  • Properties Projects - you can be added to our volunteer database to receive emails when we have ad-hoc requests (example: donation pick-up, property clean-up, junk removal & dump runs or maintenance projects).

  • Special Events - helping with fundraising activities such as our annual auction

  • Board Member - we currently have a couple of open volunteer board positions. Although all interested should reach out, ideally we need someone with finance/accounting/legal/business/marketing professional experience.
